Barbara J. Francis
INDIAN ISLAND—Barbara J. "Bobbie" "Dauntie" Francis, 73, died peacefully November 19, 2025 at a Bangor hospital following a brief illness. She was born May 9, 1952 in Bangor, ME a daughter of Paul Anthony Francis Sr and Alberta (Bear) Francis.
Barbara served in the United States Air Force. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Museum Studies from the Institute of American Indian Arts, Santa Fe, NM, where would then serve as assistant museum curator. An artist and musician, she was a self taught guitarist and pianist. She loved to spend time with her family.
She is survived by brother Patrick, sister Diane; special nieces that were more "daughters" Sonya, Patti, and Melissa; "grandchildren" Kylee, Travis and his wife Renee, Trevor and his wife Cara, Jacob, Anthony, Isaac, Malik, and Rosa; "Great grandchildren" Addy, Braiden, Makenzie and Macie; she loved her nieces and nephews dearly Alesia, PJ, Carol, Jeff, Lisa, Mary, Doug Jr., Tracey, Mikey, Renee, and Johnny; special great nephew Hunter; two special chums Coco and Faye B; her beloved pets Izzy and Daisey.
She was predeceased by her parents, siblings Eloise, Christine, Paul Francis Jr., Doug Francis Jr., nephews Paul, Anthony , Paul "June Bug" Francis, III and special cousin Victoria Spencer
A Mass of Chirstian Burial will be celebrated 11AM Wednesday November 26, 2025 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Indian Island, Maine. Burial will at a later date in the family plot at Tobique First Nation, Canada.
