VEAZIE—Avis M. Cote, 86, died October 26, 2024 at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born August 6, 1938 in Orono, a daughter of Lester and Ethel (Green) Brooks. Avis grew up in Orono, graduating Class of 1956. She retired from Cutler Health Center, University of Maine. Avis enjoyed knitting, bingo playing cards and watching the Patriots. She was past president of both Old Town Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the Old Town-Orono Seniors. Avis was predeceased by her parents, son Daniel, sisters Mary Joan, Louise, Carol and brothers Billy, Ernest, and Bob. She is survived by her daughter Deborah and her husband Rodney; grandson Daniel and his wife Jessica and their son Kempur; granddaughter Ashley and her husband Jason, granddaughter Anna and her husband Miguel and great grandchildren Garrett and Aria; sisters Ruth, June, Jean and brother David; several nieces, nephews, and cousins and two special pups Chloe and Calli. A graveside service will be conducted 11AM Saturday November 9, 2024 at St. Joseph Cemetery, Old Town.
