Arthur Joseph Morin
Old Town—Arthur Joseph Morin, 89, died December 18, 2024 at a Bangor health care facility. He was born July 7, 1935 in Old Town a son of Lawrence and Lumina (Cyr) Morin.
Art was a graduate of Old Town High School and proudly served with US Army Ninth Infantry Division, stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elk, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. He was a communicant at Parish of the Resurrection, Holy Family Church. He worked at the paper mill in Old Town, retiring after 44 years of service in 1997 when it was owned by James River.
Arthur married Amy Bouchard and they celebrated their 64th anniversary in April. Arthur's family meant everything to him, and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Arthur always loved the outdoors and being out in nature. His happiest times were when he was hunting, fishing, and spending time at his camp at Brandy Pond with family.
He is survived by his wife Amy; daughter Linda Smith and her husband Michael of Milford; son Kevin Morin and his wife Beth of Old Town; his beloved grandchildren Jeni and her husband Randall Madden Jr.; Kaylie Smith, Hannah Higgins and Gabriel Morin; great grandchildren Grace Madden and Jaxson Madden; brother in-law Dennis Bouchard and his wife Ann of West Hills, CA; several nieces and nephews.
Arthur was predeceased by his parents; his beloved son Michael Morin, sister Theresa Cianchette.
Arthur's family would like to thank the staff of the Maine Veterans Home for the excellent, loving, and compassionate care given to him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Friday January 10, 2025 at Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family Church, Old Town. Immediately following the service, all are invited to the Parish Hall for a light luncheon and continued fellowship. Spring burial with military honors will be conducted at St. Joseph Cemetery, Old Town.
