Alvena Gloria (Lavoie) Knapp
BRADLEY— It is with great sorrow that we announced the passing of our mom Alvena "Vin" Knapp, 95, who died peacefully March 10, 2022 at her residence with family by her side.
Mom was born September 21, 1926 in Old Town the daughter of the late George and Albertina Lavoie.
She was employed many years at the A&P in Old Town and retired from employment at the University of Maine Orono. She was a communicant of Saint Ann's Catholic Church, Bradley and a past member of the St. Ann Society. Art and Vin made many memories including square dancing with great friends, snowmobiling with family, camping many summers at Sebago Lake State Park and spending time at Chemo Pond in Eddington. Mom was proficient with a pair of knitting needles and indulged all the children in her family as well as many newborns over the years with beautiful knitwear. She was also known as an exceptional baker (the best Apple pie!) who provided family and friends with a bake shop worthy goods for all occasions. We, her daughters, were fortunate enough to experience a very best of childhoods with our parents.
She will be forever missed as a devoted wife and mother and survived by her husband and soulmate Arthur to whom she was married for 78 years; daughter Carol Resemini and her husband Jack of Holbrook New York; sister and best friend GeeGee Richards and her husband Gordon of Old Town.
