Obituary

Adeline "Connie" St. Louis OLD TOWN--Adeline "Connie" St. Louis, 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, with family members by her side. She was born, one of nine siblings, to Albert and Alice (Dionne) Lagasse. Connie lived most of her life on her beloved French Island in Old Town. She would tell us that when she was a child, her neighbors were either relatives or her parents best friends. Everyone looked out for each other. In 1998, Connie became a founding member of Nos Histories de l'Ile, a group that produced oral histories, and published a book about their Franco community. Connie met the love of her life, Harold St. Louis, on French Island. They married in 1950 and had three children, Rebecca (Paul), Carol (Nichols) and Steven St. Louis. Connie worked at the Ounegan Woolen Mill and later at Shop'n Save. Family was important, and we grew up surrounded by lots of aunts and uncles and cousins. Family vacations were filled with love and happy memories. There were family reunions and visits to our uncles in Dexter, fishing trips to Greenville, rabbit stew on Christmas Eve, and Connie was always ready for the Sunday afternoon rides with her sisters. We would tease them that they should write a book on the best restaurants and rest stops within a fifty mile radius of Old Town! Connie was predeceased by her five brothers: Peter, Patrick, Morris, Albert "Buck", and Jim; and three sisters: Lillian, Yvonne and Marie. She is survived by her children; her grandchildren: Eric, Myriah and Mandy; five great-grandchildren: Zachery, Jordyn, Jenna, Mena, and Maia; and two great-great grandchildren: Winona and Chaska; sisters-in-law: Jean and Betty St. Louis and Elda Lagasse; and many nieces and nephews. She was especially close to Jerry Storman, Christine Spearing, and Eddie Lebretton. We would also like to acknowledge Connie's cousin and best friend since childhood, Theresa Cloutier Hart. Thank you for your prayers and comfort. Thank you to the staff at Cummings HealthCare Facility in Howland for their loving care. A funeral mass and graveside committal will be announced this spring. All who knew and loved Connie are welcome to attend. Finally, Thank you, God, for sharing your angel with us. We were so lucky to have her in our lives.
